Wrocław Passport Day
Wrocław Passport Day is an annual event for older primary school students. This year, the event took place on May 28 with the participation of the City of Wrocław authorities and consulates operating in Wrocław.
The aim of the meeting was to present 22 Honorary Consulates and the Consulate General of Germany, Ukraine and the Vice-Consulate of Hungary to the inhabitants of Wrocław. The originator of the event is Kartikey Johri, Honorary Consul of India in Wrocław, and the organizer is the International Relations Office of the City Hall in Wrocław.
3,000 students from Wrocław primary schools took part in Wrocław Passport Day this year. Colorful stands have been prepared at the Tarczyński Arena stadium in Wrocław. At the stands, you could collect information about the countries that have their titular and honorary consuls in Wrocław. Each student received a special "passport", in which, after completing the task, they received a stamp allowing them to "enter" a given country. To obtain an entry stamp, children had to show off their knowledge about a given country - by solving tasks or performing elements of, for example, the country's national dance or, for example, tasting exotic dishes and trying to describe what they are made of.
Stamps in passports are not the only attractions prepared by the Slovak Consulate for participants. Children could, among others: take part in games and competitions in which the prizes were gadgets and original Slovak sweets. The Honorary Consulate of the Slovak Republic was represented by the consulate assistant, Ms. Jolanta Kaleta. The stand promoting Slovakia attracted great interest.
